The RedHeaded Zombie Show Presents
Grab a drink with us at Bar-K, and rock out at The Redheaded Zombie Show’s second show of 2019! We’ll be showcasing local band, and headliners, Dear Rabbit.
Dear Rabbit is a rotating cast of musicians bringing the lyrics and songwriting of Rence Liam to a boiling point. Starting as a solo multi-instrumentalist, he found solace in guitar and accordion. Early release “they don’t love the songs” could easily be described as bare-bones polka. As Rence continued, his band expanded. Once a solo act, Dear Rabbit became loud. 2016’s “They’re Not Like You” was a punked-out expansion on a personal brand of songwriting. Rence cites Guided By Voices and Sparklehorse among his top influences (others include Harry Nilsson, Kate Bush, & The Kinks), though Dear Rabbit’s most recent release reminds one of the freak-folk and folk-punk elite. Like his albums, you can expect Rence to come out loud and personal.
For this show, we’re inviting the energetic, the odd, and the singer-songwriters. Long-time RHZ mainstay Rough Age will kick us off with a set of rock songs with a western edge. Another RHZ favorite, Timmy Vilgiate will offer his unique blend of acoustic instrumentation, poetry, electronic production, and raw personality. From there, we get loud with Menagerie, a variety of rock styles that live up to the band’s name.
